President Have Bow, Will Go WEBMASTER |
The August meeting was held on the 10th. Treasurer's Report: A preliminary account of the Bowhunter Weekend Shoot was presented. A copy is posted on the bulletin board. Cheyenne Field Archers received notification from the Internal Revenue Service that the Club successfully obtained non-profit status. A discussion was held concerning F.E. Warren AFB. Current club members have indicated that there are a number of archers on Base that do not have any where to shoot and have know idea that CFA exists. There is an interest in making the range available to them for an event. The Club would use this event as a way to promote archery and as a membership drive. There will be no charge but all participants will be required to sign a waiver. The event is tentatively planned for late Fall. Butch Rupert indicated that Jack Skinner wants to hold the 2nd annual all traditional shoot the first Saturday of December - in conjunction with the Club's annual Lies and Fries. The Board approved. The Bowhunter Weekend shoot was reviewed. Comments were favorable. Some areas needing work involve making sure that water is available at all times on the course. Changing the order of presenting door prizes so that more of the popular ones go first. Scheduling the afternoon fun shoots to run in the same area and have each begin immediately after the other ends. The Club thanks the following donors for making the Bowhunters Weekend Shoot a financial success. With their help, as well as the hard work of the membership, the Club one again successfully held a great shoot. Over 330 archers participated this year at Curt Gowdy State Park.
